Binnakle The Expedition is based on tried and tested methodology for the creative process of innovating developed by Inteligencia Creativa, a creative thinking and innovation consultancy with more than 15 years of experience and with major clients across a wide range of sectors and in various countries.

The methodology goes beyond just generating ideas and is structured into four phases.

WITH A DIGITAL PLATFORM

Binnakle The Expedition has a digital platform that supplements the physical game. It can be used to announce and coordinate games, and to provide help and tutorials for the expedition. What’s more, the platform can be used as a guide for participants throughout the adventure. As part of the game, the teams can enter the content they generate during each mission, which means the results will be available as soon as the game comes to an end.

MISSION ONE

QUESTION LAGOON

On the first mission of the Expedition, the Explorers venture into the Question Lagoon to obtain reformulations of the initial challenge and identify possible new routes and new approaches to the journey. The goal is to come up with as many reformulations of the first challenge as possible.

MISSION TWO

THE FOREST OF ILLUMINATION

In the depths of the Forest of Illumination, explorers will have to locate paths that might lead to more interesting places. In this mission it's important to go for the most unknown and exciting routes. Binnakle The Expedition will guide the teams and provide them with the techniques and stimuli they need to come up with and find the highest number of novel ideas. The aim of this mission is to get as many ideas as possible.

MISSION THREE

TWO-FACE VALLEY

Once the backpack is full of innovative ideas, it's time to explore them, to test them out and discover their weak and strong points. Teams have to manage to transform the best ideas into definite concepts. They'll be surprised when they see that the more weaknesses they find in an idea, the more material they have for improving it. The goal of the third mission is to bring the ideas down to earth and firm up the best ideas.

MISSION FOUR

NEW HORIZONS BEACH

In the decisive Mission 4, New Horizons Beach, the teams define how to test their ideas, with quick, cheap experiments, and prepare to sell them, so they can be taken on board and launched into the Sea of Opportunities, where they’ll become reality.
